I WOULD LIKE TO APPLY FOR A PROVIDER NUMBER SO I CAN WORK ALONG SIDE A DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL. WHY IS IT SO COMPLICATED TO GET ONE. I AM A HYPNOTHERAAPIST AND COUNSELLOR AND SPECIALISE IN DEPRESSION AND WEIGHT LOSS AND COUNSELL PEOPLE FOR VARIOUS TRAUMAS. SO WHY IS IT THAT WHEN WE KNOW WE CAN HELP ALONG SIDE OUR REGISTERED DOCTORS WE FIND IT HARD TO GET PROVIDER NUMBERS.

I recently applied for my provider numer but it appears they don’t just give them out the way they used to do – you already need to be working in partnership with a dr or similar to be recieving one … a bit of a catch 22 as my gp is not going to give me referals unless I get one!!!!

any suggestions
