Hypnosis in Stir of Echoes

The film, Stir of Echoes (1999), starred Kevin Bacon and didn’t do much to help promote the benefits of hypnosis.

In the film, Kevin Bacon’s sister in law hypnotizes him at a party and tells him he should be more open-minded. From that point on, Kevin’s character, Tom, starts seeing visions and ghosts.

Hypnotherapists do use suggestion in their hypnotherapy sessions, however, these suggestions are well thought out and would never be as vague as this. At least in this film there are no swinging fob watches or look into my swirling eyes, the film shows a more realistic induction.

Well worth a watch if you enjoy thrillers or horrors and Kevin Bacon plays a great part.
