How Long Should A Hypnotherapy Session Last And What Should It Cost?
December 31, 2007
The length of a Hypnotherapy session will depend on whether the initial consultation has been done first or not. Many hypnotherapists offer a free, initial consultation first, which usually lasts half an hour.
The hypnotherapist can then prepare the Hypnotherapy session. Sessions are tailored to the individual, although the techniques will often stay the same, the exact wording or imagery used will be tailored to the client. Different hypnotherapists have different ways or depths of doing this, some tailor the session according to personality or the language of the client. Some hypnotherapists prefer to do the session straight away and are very good at adapting their sessions on the spot, others prefer to prepare it separately.
The actual Hypnotherapy session will last anything from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on the issue. Phobias, for example, can take less time, however, if they are complicated, may require two or three sessions.
The cost of a session will also vary according to the level of experience of the hypnotherapist and the area in which they operate. Prices can be as low as £40 or as high as £140 per hour.
Self-hypnosis is something many people can learn, although one or two sessions with a hypnotherapist will always help to learn it quicker and ensure they get the most from their self-hypnosis. It is a skill that must be practiced to really gain the benefits.
