Fighting Crime With Hypnosis
February 16, 2008
We have talked before about British law on hypnotising witnesses, where it is banned for various different reasons.
However, the law in America is slightly different. On call hypnotist, Lewis Marshall of Richland county, tells of one case where hypnosis lead to the conviction of a murderer in 2004.
A key witness was driving home when a car pulled up alongside and shot his wife. Unable to recall the number plate, Marshall was called in to see if he could help. Unfortunately, the witness hadn’t seen the number plate and so the memory wasn’t there for the hypnosis to help him to access. However, he did recall other facts about the car, which along with a tip received by investigators, led to the murderer’s conviction.
