Anna Richardson Puts Hypnosis On Trial
January 28, 2008
Anna Richardson has been doing a feature with the Daily Mail where she tries a different weight loss method each week for seven weeks.
Week 5 was the turn of hypnosis. In the article, she discusses her visit to hypnotherapist Marisa Peer, the resident Celebrity Fat Club hypnotist. The visit was basically summarised along the lines of ‘one, two, three, sleep, imagine yourself slim, and on the count of three you’ll never want chocolate again.’
Although sceptical, Anna was amazed by the experience and the vividness of her memory of food association from her younger years, which you can read in more detail in the article online. She also returned for a second session to specifically help her to stop eating chocolate and crisps.
At the end of the week, Anna had lost 3 lbs and is quoted as saying
I feel lighter, happier and, for the first time in years, in control of food. I want to eat healthily, and have no problem refusing fatty or sugary meals
